Product Overview

Metallurgical Characteristics

JIS SUS321 is an austenitic stainless steel stabilized with titanium additions, which form stable titanium carbides (TiC) that prevent chromium carbide precipitation at grain boundaries. This stabilization mechanism ensures excellent intergranular corrosion resistance and maintains mechanical properties at elevated temperatures up to 900°C. The austenitic microstructure provides superior ductility and toughness compared to ferritic grades.

Heat Treatment Process

MetalZenith employs precise solution annealing at 1050-1100°C followed by rapid cooling to achieve optimal microstructure. The titanium stabilization eliminates the need for stabilizing heat treatments, making this grade suitable for welding applications without post-weld heat treatment. Our controlled atmosphere furnaces ensure consistent grain size and prevent surface oxidation during processing.

Manufacturing Process Excellence

Our integrated production process begins with vacuum induction melting using premium raw materials, followed by electroslag remelting for enhanced cleanliness. Hot rolling is performed using computer-controlled rolling mills with precise temperature monitoring. Cold rolling and annealing cycles are optimized to achieve target mechanical properties and surface quality. Final processing includes precision cutting, surface finishing, and comprehensive quality testing.

MetalZenith maintains compliance with international standards including JIS G4303, ASTM A240, EN 10088-2, and GB/T 3280.
