The high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content ensures excellent pitting and crevice corrosion resistance in chloride environments.
Heat Treatment Process
Solution annealing is performed at 1020-1100°C followed by rapid cooling in water or air to maintain optimal duplex microstructure. MetalZenith's controlled cooling process prevents harmful intermetallic phase precipitation while ensuring proper ferrite-austenite balance. Post-weld heat treatment at 1050°C may be applied for stress relief in welded components.

Our thermomechanical controlled processing (TMCP) ensures optimal grain refinement and mechanical properties. Hot working is performed between 950-1150°C, while cold working capabilities allow for enhanced strength through controlled deformation.

All EN 1.4462 products undergo comprehensive testing including chemical analysis by optical emission spectroscopy, mechanical testing per ASTM A370, ferrite content measurement using magnetic methods, and corrosion testing according to ASTM G48.
