The low carbon content (≤ 0.28%) ensures excellent weldability while maintaining adequate strength levels. Microalloying elements such as vanadium and niobium provide grain refinement and precipitation strengthening, enhancing both strength and toughness properties.
Heat Treatment & Processing
MetalZenith employs thermomechanical controlled processing (TMCP) for GB L245 production, involving controlled rolling in the austenite recrystallization and non-recrystallization regions followed by accelerated cooling. This process eliminates the need for subsequent heat treatment while achieving superior mechanical properties. Normalizing at 900-950°C may be applied for stress relief when required.
Manufacturing Process Excellence
Our integrated steel production facility utilizes electric arc furnace steelmaking with ladle refining and vacuum degassing to achieve precise chemical composition control. Continuous casting ensures uniform solidification and minimal segregation. Hot rolling is performed using computer-controlled rolling mills with precise temperature and deformation control to optimize microstructure development.
