Product Overview
Metallurgical Characteristics
GB 20CrMnTi is a low-carbon alloy steel specifically engineered for case hardening applications. The steel's composition features chromium for enhanced hardenability, manganese for improved strength and toughness, and titanium for grain refinement and carbide formation control. The low carbon content (0.17-0.23%) ensures excellent core toughness while maintaining sufficient carbon potential for effective case hardening through carburizing processes.
Heat Treatment Process
The optimal heat treatment cycle begins with carburizing at 900-930°C for 4-8 hours depending on required case depth, followed by direct quenching from carburizing temperature or re-austenitizing at 820-850°C. Quenching is performed in oil or polymer solutions to achieve target hardness. Tempering at 150-200°C relieves internal stresses while maintaining surface hardness. Case depths of 0.8-2.0mm are typically achievable with proper carburizing parameters.
Manufacturing Process
MetalZenith produces GB 20CrMnTi through electric arc furnace melting followed by ladle refining and vacuum degassing to achieve optimal cleanliness levels. Continuous casting ensures homogeneous chemical distribution, while controlled rolling and cooling processes optimize grain structure and mechanical properties. Advanced quality control includes ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, and comprehensive chemical and mechanical property verification.
Quality Standards & Certifications
All GB 20CrMnTi products comply with GB/T 3077 national standards and are manufactured under ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems. Material certificates include complete chemical analysis, mechanical property test results, heat treatment records, and dimensional inspection reports. Additional certifications available include EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates and customer-specific quality requirements.
