FH32 offshore steel features a fine-grained ferrite-pearlite microstructure achieved through controlled thermomechanical processing. The addition of microalloying elements such as niobium, vanadium, and titanium provides grain refinement and precipitation strengthening, resulting in excellent strength-toughness combination at low temperatures.
Heat Treatment Process
MetalZenith employs advanced controlled rolling followed by accelerated cooling (TMCP) to achieve optimal mechanical properties. The process involves:
- Reheating to 1200-1250°C for austenite homogenization
- Controlled rolling in the temperature range of 1050-850°C
- Accelerated cooling to 500-600°C at controlled rates
- Air cooling to ambient temperature
Manufacturing Process Excellence
Our state-of-the-art production facility utilizes electric arc furnace steelmaking with secondary refining including ladle furnace treatment and vacuum degassing. This ensures ultra-low sulfur and phosphorus content, superior cleanliness, and consistent chemical composition throughout the heat.
Quality Standards & Testing
Every batch of FH32 steel undergoes comprehensive testing including chemical analysis, tensile testing, Charpy V-notch impact testing at specified temperatures, hardness testing, and ultrasonic inspection. Material certificates include complete traceability from raw materials to finished products, ensuring compliance with international offshore standards and customer specifications.
