Product Overview
Metallurgical Characteristics
AISI H11 is a premium hot work tool steel with a martensitic microstructure when hardened and tempered. The steel's composition features chromium for hardenability and oxidation resistance, molybdenum for high-temperature strength and toughness, and vanadium for grain refinement and carbide formation. MetalZenith's vacuum melting process ensures minimal inclusions and optimal carbide distribution for superior performance.
Heat Treatment Process
MetalZenith employs controlled atmosphere heat treatment with precise temperature monitoring. Annealing is performed at 870-900°C followed by slow cooling to achieve 217-255 HB hardness. Hardening involves austenitizing at 1010-1030°C, followed by air or oil quenching and tempering at 540-650°C to achieve desired hardness levels of 38-50 HRC. Multiple tempering cycles ensure stress relief and dimensional stability.
Manufacturing Process
Our production process begins with electric arc furnace melting using premium raw materials, followed by ladle refining and vacuum degassing. Electroslag remelting (ESR) ensures exceptional cleanliness and homogeneity. Hot forging and rolling operations are performed within controlled temperature ranges to optimize grain structure. All products undergo ultrasonic testing and dimensional inspection before delivery.
Quality Standards & Certifications
MetalZenith maintains ISO 9001:2015 certification and complies with ASTM A681, DIN 1.2343, and JIS SKD6 standards. Our quality control system includes complete chemical analysis using optical emission spectrometry, mechanical property testing, microstructural examination, and non-destructive testing. Each batch is accompanied by mill test certificates with full traceability documentation.
