Product Overview
Metallurgical Characteristics
UNS N07001 Waspaloy is a precipitation-hardened nickel-based superalloy strengthened by gamma-prime (Ni3(Al,Ti)) precipitates. The alloy exhibits exceptional creep resistance, oxidation resistance, and mechanical properties at elevated temperatures up to 760°C. The microstructure consists of an austenitic matrix with uniformly distributed gamma-prime precipitates, providing superior high-temperature strength retention.
Heat Treatment Process
MetalZenith employs a precise two-stage heat treatment process: Solution treatment at 1080°C for 4 hours followed by air cooling, then aging at 845°C for 4 hours, air cool to 760°C, hold for 16 hours, then air cool. This treatment optimizes gamma-prime precipitation size and distribution for maximum mechanical properties and creep resistance.
Manufacturing Process
Our production begins with vacuum induction melting (VIM) followed by vacuum arc remelting (VAR) to ensure exceptional cleanliness and homogeneity. The ingots undergo controlled forging and rolling operations with intermediate heat treatments to achieve optimal grain structure. All processing parameters are computer-controlled and monitored to maintain consistent quality.
Quality Standards
MetalZenith maintains strict quality control throughout production, including ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, chemical analysis by ICP-OES, mechanical property verification, and microstructural examination. All products comply with aerospace specifications AMS 5544 and are manufactured under AS9100D quality management systems with full traceability documentation.
