Heat Treatment Process

The manufacturing process involves controlled austenitizing at 880-920°C followed by rapid quenching in water or polymer solutions to achieve full martensitic transformation. Subsequent tempering at 580-650°C optimizes the balance between strength and toughness while relieving internal stresses. MetalZenith's advanced heat treatment facilities ensure precise temperature control and uniform heating throughout the material volume.

Manufacturing Excellence

MetalZenith employs state-of-the-art electric arc furnaces with secondary refining capabilities including ladle metallurgy and vacuum degassing to achieve ultra-low sulfur and phosphorus contents. Continuous casting technology ensures homogeneous chemical composition and minimal segregation. Hot rolling is performed using computer-controlled rolling mills with precise temperature and deformation control to optimize grain structure and mechanical properties.

Weldability & Fabrication

GB Q960 exhibits good weldability when proper procedures are followed. Preheating to 150-200°C is recommended for thick sections, and post-weld stress relief may be required for critical applications.
