Product Overview
Metallurgical Characteristics
EN 25CrMo4 is a low-alloy steel with chromium and molybdenum additions that significantly enhance hardenability, strength, and toughness. The chromium content provides improved corrosion resistance and wear properties, while molybdenum contributes to high-temperature strength and prevents temper brittleness. The steel exhibits excellent through-hardening characteristics and maintains good ductility even at high strength levels.
Heat Treatment Process
MetalZenith's heat treatment process begins with austenitizing at 850-880°C, followed by oil quenching to achieve martensitic structure. Tempering is performed at 550-650°C depending on desired hardness levels. Our computer-controlled furnaces ensure uniform heating and precise temperature control throughout the process. Post-heat treatment stress relieving at 600-650°C may be applied for dimensional stability in critical applications.
Manufacturing Excellence
MetalZenith employs electric arc furnace melting followed by ladle refining and vacuum degassing to achieve superior cleanliness. Continuous casting and controlled rolling processes ensure uniform microstructure and mechanical properties. Our quality control includes spectroscopic analysis, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, and comprehensive mechanical testing according to international standards.
Quality Standards & Certifications
All EN 25CrMo4 products are manufactured in compliance with EN 10083-3 standards and equivalent specifications including AISI 4130, JIS SCM430, and GB 25CrMo4. MetalZenith maintains ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and OHSAS 18001 certifications. Each shipment includes comprehensive mill test certificates with chemical analysis, mechanical properties, and traceability documentation.
