Metallurgical Characteristics

AISI 1075 is a high-carbon, plain carbon steel containing 0.70-0.80% carbon, which provides excellent hardenability and wear resistance. The steel exhibits a pearlitic microstructure in the annealed condition, transforming to martensite upon proper heat treatment. Heat Treatment Process

MetalZenith employs precision-controlled heat treatment cycles optimized for AISI 1075. Austenitizing is performed at 790-820°C, followed by rapid quenching in oil or water to achieve maximum hardness. Tempering at 150-650°C allows for hardness adjustment between 42-50 HRC depending on application requirements. Our computer-controlled furnaces ensure consistent temperature uniformity and reproducible results.

Manufacturing Process

Our AISI 1075 steel is produced using electric arc furnace technology with secondary refining processes including ladle metallurgy and vacuum degassing. Continuous casting ensures homogeneous chemical composition, while controlled rolling and cooling optimize the microstructure.
