Heat Treatment Process

MetalZenith performs solution annealing at 980-1010°C followed by rapid cooling to achieve optimal corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. The standard heat treatment involves heating to 980°C minimum, holding for sufficient time to ensure complete dissolution of carbides, then water quenching or rapid air cooling. Our advanced manufacturing process begins with vacuum induction melting using premium raw materials, followed by electroslag remelting for enhanced cleanliness. Hot working is performed within carefully controlled temperature ranges (1150-900°C) to optimize grain structure and mechanical properties. Every batch undergoes comprehensive testing including chemical analysis per ASTM E1019 and E1097, mechanical testing per ASTM A370, and specialized corrosion testing including ASTM A262 Practice E for intergranular corrosion susceptibility. Non-destructive testing includes ultrasonic examination per ASTM A388 and liquid penetrant testing per ASTM E165.
