Metallurgical Characteristics
JIS SUJ2 is a high-carbon, low-alloy steel specifically designed for bearing applications. The steel's microstructure consists of fine pearlite in the annealed condition, which transforms to martensite with retained austenite upon hardening. The chromium content provides enhanced hardenability and wear resistance, while maintaining excellent dimensional stability during heat treatment.
Heat Treatment Process
MetalZenith's controlled heat treatment process involves austenitizing at 820-860°C, followed by oil quenching to achieve full hardness. Tempering is performed at 150-200°C to achieve the desired hardness range of 60-65 HRC. Our advanced furnace technology ensures uniform heating and precise temperature control throughout the process, resulting in consistent mechanical properties and minimal distortion.
Manufacturing Process Excellence
Our production process begins with electric arc furnace melting, followed by ladle refining and vacuum degassing to achieve ultra-low inclusion content. The steel is cast into ingots or continuously cast billets, then hot rolled to the required dimensions. Cold drawing and precision grinding operations are available to achieve tight dimensional tolerances and superior surface finish.
