Technical Specifications

Product Overview

Metallurgical Characteristics

GH4169 is a precipitation-hardened nickel-iron-chromium superalloy strengthened by gamma prime (Ni3(Al,Ti)) and gamma double prime (Ni3Nb) precipitates. The alloy exhibits exceptional strength retention at elevated temperatures up to 650°C, making it ideal for aerospace and gas turbine applications. MetalZenith's advanced vacuum melting processes ensure minimal segregation and optimal precipitate distribution.

Heat Treatment Process

MetalZenith employs a precise two-stage aging treatment following solution annealing at 980°C. The aging process involves heating at 720°C for 8 hours, furnace cooling to 620°C, holding for 8 hours, then air cooling. This proprietary heat treatment optimizes the precipitation of strengthening phases while maintaining excellent ductility and toughness.

Manufacturing Process

Our GH4169 production begins with vacuum induction melting (VIM) using high-purity raw materials, followed by vacuum arc remelting (VAR) for enhanced cleanliness. Hot working is performed within the temperature range of 1010-1120°C with controlled cooling rates. MetalZenith's advanced thermomechanical processing ensures fine grain structure and optimal mechanical properties.

Quality Standards & Testing

All GH4169 products undergo comprehensive testing including chemical analysis by optical emission spectroscopy, mechanical testing per ASTM E8/E21, ultrasonic inspection per ASTM A388, and microstructural examination. MetalZenith maintains AS9100D aerospace certification and NADCAP accreditation for special processes, ensuring compliance with the most stringent aerospace requirements.

Corrosion Resistance & Environmental Performance

GH4169 exhibits excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion in high-temperature environments. The high chromium content provides superior oxidation resistance up to 980°C, while the nickel matrix ensures excellent corrosion resistance in various chemical environments. MetalZenith's controlled chemistry and processing enhance these properties for demanding applications.
