Technical Specifications

Product Overview

Metallurgical Characteristics

AISI 430 is a straight chromium ferritic stainless steel with a body-centered cubic (BCC) crystal structure. The ferritic microstructure provides excellent corrosion resistance in mildly corrosive environments while maintaining magnetic properties. MetalZenith's controlled cooling processes ensure optimal grain size and carbide distribution for enhanced mechanical properties.

Heat Treatment Process

MetalZenith applies solution annealing at 760-790°C followed by rapid cooling to achieve optimal softness and corrosion resistance. Our controlled atmosphere furnaces prevent surface oxidation and ensure uniform heating throughout the material cross-section. Stress relief annealing at 400-450°C is available for formed components.

Manufacturing Process

Our AISI 430 production begins with electric arc furnace melting followed by AOD refining for precise chemistry control. Continuous casting produces high-quality billets that undergo hot rolling, cold rolling, and final annealing. MetalZenith's advanced surface treatment facilities provide various finishes including 2B, BA, and decorative finishes.

Quality Standards

All AISI 430 products manufactured by MetalZenith comply with international standards including ASTM A240, EN 10088-2, and JIS G4305. Our quality management system encompasses chemical analysis using optical emission spectroscopy, mechanical testing per ASTM standards, and corrosion testing including salt spray and pitting resistance evaluation.
