حاسبة وزن الزاوية الفولاذية
This free steel angle weight calculator estimates the weight of equal and unequal angle (L) sections from their leg dimensions, thickness, and length. It is handy for material take-offs and shipping estimates.
How it works & formula
For an angle section, the cross-sectional area is approximately A = (a + b − t) × t, where a and b are the leg lengths and t is the thickness. Weight is then W = A × L × ρ, with steel density ρ = 7,850 kg/m³ (0.284 lb/in³).

|---|---|---|
| 50×50×5 mm | 3.77 | 2.53 |
| 65×65×6 mm | 5.91 | 3.97 |
| 75×75×6 mm | 6.85 | 4.60 |
| 100×100×10 mm | 15.1 | 10.1 |
Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate the weight of a steel angle?
Estimate the cross-sectional area as (leg1 + leg2 - thickness) x thickness, multiply by the length to get volume, then multiply by steel density (7,850 kg/m3). The result is the weight.
What is the weight of a 50x50x5 steel angle?
An equal angle 50 x 50 x 5 mm weighs about 3.77 kg per metre, or roughly 2.53 lb per foot.
What is the density of steel used for angle weight?
Standard structural steel density is 7,850 kg per cubic metre (7.85 g/cm3, or about 0.284 lb per cubic inch).
Does the calculator work for unequal angles?
Yes. Enter the two different leg lengths and the thickness; the area formula (leg1 + leg2 - thickness) x thickness handles unequal angles.

Equal Angle Weight Formula
Weight = (A + B - t) × t × density × length
Where:
A = Length of first leg
B = Length of second leg
t = Thickness
density = Material density
length = Length of angle section
