Product Overview
Metallurgical Characteristics
EN 1.4125 is a high-carbon martensitic stainless steel with a complex microstructure consisting of tempered martensite matrix with uniformly distributed chromium carbides. The high carbon content (0.95-1.20%) combined with 16-18% chromium provides exceptional hardness and wear resistance while maintaining adequate corrosion resistance in mild environments.
Heat Treatment Process
MetalZenith's optimized heat treatment process includes annealing at 850-900°C, hardening at 1020-1050°C with oil or air quenching, followed by tempering at 150-200°C to achieve maximum hardness (58-62 HRC). Our controlled atmosphere furnaces ensure uniform heating and prevent decarburization, maintaining consistent mechanical properties throughout the cross-section.
Manufacturing Process Excellence
Our manufacturing process begins with vacuum induction melting using premium raw materials, followed by electroslag remelting for enhanced cleanliness. Hot forging and rolling operations are performed within precise temperature ranges to optimize grain structure and carbide distribution. Cold finishing operations utilize advanced machinery to achieve superior surface quality and dimensional accuracy.
Quality Standards & Testing
All EN 1.4125 products undergo comprehensive testing including chemical analysis by optical emission spectroscopy, mechanical property verification, ultrasonic testing for internal soundness, and metallographic examination. Our quality management system complies with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, and NADCAP requirements, ensuring full traceability and documentation for aerospace and critical applications.
Technical Support & Engineering Services
MetalZenith provides comprehensive technical support including material selection guidance, heat treatment optimization, machining recommendations, and application-specific testing. Our metallurgical engineers work closely with customers to develop customized solutions and provide ongoing technical assistance throughout the product lifecycle.
