Technical Specifications

Product Overview

Metallurgical Characteristics

EN 1.4539 is a super austenitic stainless steel with a fully austenitic microstructure stabilized by high nickel content and balanced chromium-molybdenum additions. The steel exhibits exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking due to its high PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) value of approximately 35-40.

Heat Treatment Process

MetalZenith employs solution annealing at 1100-1150°C followed by rapid water quenching to achieve optimal corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. Our controlled atmosphere furnaces prevent surface oxidation and ensure uniform heating throughout the material cross-section. Post-annealing pickling and passivation treatments enhance surface quality and corrosion resistance.

Manufacturing Process

Our production process begins with vacuum induction melting of premium raw materials, followed by electroslag remelting for enhanced cleanliness. Hot working is performed within the temperature range of 1050-1200°C, with careful control of reduction ratios to optimize grain structure. Cold working operations utilize advanced rolling and drawing equipment to achieve precise dimensional tolerances and superior surface finish.

Quality Standards & Testing

All EN 1.4539 products undergo comprehensive testing including chemical analysis by optical emission spectroscopy, mechanical property verification, intergranular corrosion testing per ASTM A262, and non-destructive examination. MetalZenith maintains compliance with EN 10204 Type 3.1 certification requirements and provides full traceability documentation for each product batch.
