GB GCr15 is a through-hardening bearing steel with high carbon content (0.95-1.05%) and chromium addition (1.30-1.65%) that provides excellent hardenability and wear resistance. The steel exhibits a martensitic microstructure after quenching, with fine carbide distribution that contributes to superior rolling contact fatigue resistance.
Heat Treatment Process
MetalZenith employs precise heat treatment protocols including austenitizing at 840-860°C, followed by oil quenching to achieve uniform hardness. Tempering is performed at 150-200°C to relieve internal stresses while maintaining high hardness (60-67 HRC). Our controlled atmosphere furnaces prevent decarburization and ensure consistent surface quality.
Manufacturing Process
Our production process begins with electric arc furnace melting followed by ladle refining and vacuum degassing to achieve ultra-low inclusion content. Continuous casting ensures homogeneous chemical composition, while subsequent hot rolling and controlled cooling optimize the microstructure. Advanced quality control includes ultrasonic testing, chemical analysis, and mechanical property verification.
