EN P265GH is a fine-grained carbon-manganese steel with excellent weldability and formability. The steel features a ferritic-pearlitic microstructure optimized through controlled rolling and normalizing heat treatment. MetalZenith's advanced steelmaking process ensures minimal inclusion content and uniform grain structure for superior mechanical properties.

Heat Treatment Process

Standard delivery condition is normalized at 900-950°C followed by air cooling. MetalZenith's controlled cooling technology ensures optimal microstructure development and stress relief. Additional stress relieving at 580-650°C may be applied for enhanced dimensional stability in pressure vessel applications.

Manufacturing Process

MetalZenith produces EN P265GH through electric arc furnace melting with secondary refining including ladle furnace treatment and vacuum degassing. The steel undergoes controlled rolling with precise temperature control to achieve fine grain structure and optimal mechanical properties. Continuous casting ensures uniform composition and minimal segregation.

Quality Standards

All EN P265GH products comply with EN 10028-2 requirements and undergo comprehensive testing including tensile testing, impact testing, hardness measurement, and ultrasonic inspection. MetalZenith maintains PED 2014/68/EU certification for pressure equipment manufacturing with full material traceability and documentation.

Welding Characteristics

EN P265GH exhibits excellent weldability with all conventional welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and SAW. Preheating is typically not required for sections up to 25mm thickness. Post-weld heat treatment at 580-650°C is recommended for stress relief in pressure vessel applications.
