Product Overview

Metallurgical Characteristics

GH3030 is a solid-solution strengthened nickel-chromium-iron superalloy with an austenitic face-centered cubic crystal structure. The alloy exhibits excellent resistance to oxidation, carburization, and chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. Its high nickel content provides superior corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing environments.

Heat Treatment Process

MetalZenith employs precise solution annealing at 1010-1150°C followed by rapid cooling to achieve optimal microstructure. The standard heat treatment involves heating to 1095°C ± 15°C, holding for appropriate time based on section thickness, followed by water quenching or rapid air cooling to prevent carbide precipitation.

Manufacturing Process

Our advanced manufacturing process begins with vacuum induction melting (VIM) to ensure chemical purity, followed by electroslag remelting (ESR) for enhanced cleanliness. Hot working is performed between 1200-900°C with careful temperature control to maintain grain structure. Cold working capabilities include drawing, rolling, and forming operations with intermediate annealing as required.

Quality Standards & Testing

All GH3030 products undergo comprehensive testing including chemical analysis by optical emission spectroscopy, mechanical testing per ASTM standards, ultrasonic testing for internal soundness, and microstructural examination. Certificates of compliance include material test certificates (MTC) with full traceability to heat numbers and processing records.

Welding & Fabrication

GH3030 exhibits excellent weldability using GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW processes. Recommended filler metals include ERNiCr-3 and ENiCrFe-3. Post-weld heat treatment at 870-900°C may be applied for stress relief in critical applications. The alloy maintains its corrosion resistance in the as-welded condition.
